Flexible retractors, also known as malleable retractors or flexible blade retractors, are surgical tools that are flexible and adjustable to the shape and contours of the patient’s anatomy while also providing retraction and access to the operative site. They are frequently utilised during procedures where a stiff retractor might not be appropriate or when access to challenging locations is required.

A thin, malleable metal blade or frame that may be bent or moulded anyway the surgeon sees fit often makes up flexible retractors. The retractor can be positioned around sensitive organs and tissues without causing significant trauma or injury thanks to its flexibility.
