To offer exposure and make access to the surgical site easier, surgeons frequently utilise Richardson retractors, also referred to as Richardson-Eastman retractors. They bear the name Edward Palmer Richardson after the American physician.
Typically, Richardson retractors have a handle and two curved blades or prongs. Because the blades are tiny and curved, they may gently retract tissues without inflicting too much trauma. The handle is made to be easy to hold and control while in use.
