Ollier Retractors

RI-000016 A type of surgical tool frequently used in orthopaedic and general procedures is the ollier retractor. They are made to restrain tissues and organs so that the surgical site can be accessed and exposed in the best possible way. The French surgeon Auguste Ollier, who is renowned for his contributions to orthopaedic surgery, is honoured by having his name attached to Ollier retractors. Two curved blades or prongs plus a handle are the standard components of these retractors. To hold back the surrounding tissues and free up the space for the surgeon to work in, the blades are introduced into the incision and gently pulled back. In order to meet the various depths and angles of the surgical site, the blades are frequently changeable.
